Pear Deck

Hey guys, I hope you all are doing fine :). With my typical entry, I am going to be talking about an interactive tool I learned in my class. It's just one of those tools, apps, softwares that enhance learning.

It's called Pear Deck.

(courtesy of my lecturer for letting me use her presentation)

Pear Deck is an interactive presentational tool you can use to engage your students in social and individual learning. It's a go-to option for lovely teachers whose students are physically in class but actually on Rainbow 6 pre-match ban phase. With this tool, teachers can keep the attention of their students in the subject.

You can activate it in the upper left side in your slide page.

What tools does Pear Deck offer?

-Text responses

-Multi-choice questions

-Numerical responses

-Drag an answer or icon as in the photo below

In addition to this, there are 2 options in this tool:

1.) Student-paced

2.) Instructor-paced Activity

As can be understood from the name, the first one is more useful for asynchronous learning. Like you know, you can give them assignment and let them do that there etc.

Second one is its use in synchronous class that we talked about above

Advantages of Pear Deck:

-The first can be the fact that it helps students with social anxiety bey keeping their answers anonymous. Not everyone can be comfortable while sharing their ideas before a whole class, so naturally it is a great option for them.

-Unlike the traditional method, it increases creativity and leads to a new interactional method in language learning.

-Students are less likely to get bored.

-More learner-based

This is a great tool for anybody wishing to teach somethings online while also making sure their students are also taking part in the class. I would recommend that you use this app for an enhanced learning.
